Admit It

Justin hated spiders. It didn't matter what kind, how big, how hairy, or what color, Justin hated them all.

Wade would always know when Justin had found a spider because Justin would make what Wade had come to call the "spider scream". Whenever Wade heard it, he would smile to himself and go find Justin, and the spider. Justin would always be as far away as possible, pointing at it. "There, it's right there."

Wade would pull a kleenex from his pocket, he always had one ready, because Justin found spiders often. He always claimed that it was because they knew he hated them, so they were all out to get him. Wade always nodded, hiding his smile as he would scoop the spider up into the tissue and smush it. He would throw it into the garbage can, but Justin always wanted to make sure the spider was really, truly dead. So Wade, followed by Justin, would flush the tissue down the toilet.

Justin would smile and kiss Wade. "That one was really, really big. Did you see how big it was?"

"Enormous," Wade would reply with a nod.

He would never admit it, but Wade loved killing spiders for Justin.

Justin wrote songs about Wade. He'd sit in his studio for hours and come up with melodies. Melodies were easy, it was always the lyrics he had trouble with. When he and Wade wrote songs together, Wade would come up with lyrics and Justin would put music to them. That was always how it came to them. It wasn't like Justin had a hard time putting his feelings for Wade into words, either. He just struggled matching those words with his melodies.

Justin wrote Wade love letters. Wade kept them in a box under his side of the bed, and when Justin had an idea for a song, he'd get Wade's box out and read over his letters. "You have the most beautiful way with words," Wade would tell him. Justin never understood how Wade could say that when he was such a bad lyricist.

Justin always played his songs on the guitar. Wade was always surprised when Justin had a new song for him, because Justin didn't have a set pattern. Sometimes he would wake Wade up and play for him, singing the lyrics he'd tried so hard to string together, and then they'd make love as the sun rose. Sometimes Justin would surprise him in the middle of the day, at any given moment. Other times, Justin had it planned, after a romantic dinner. Every time, Wade would fall in love with Justin just a little more. He didn't think it was possible, but whenever Justin sang him a song, something Wade knew he'd worked so hard on, something that touched him so much, he felt that tugging at his heart and couldn't believe how lucky he was.

He would never admit it, but Justin loved writing songs for Wade.

Wade sent Justin text messages on his cellphone whenever they weren't together. If he was teaching a class and he was on a break and Justin was in some other state, doing something for *NSYNC, Wade would send him something. It was usually just a 'hello, I miss you, I love you' kind of message, but Justin would always reply, and it would turn into something silly that left them both laughing and feeling better about being apart.

Sometimes Justin would write about sitting in a press conference, trying to be inconspicuous while he messaged Wade. Justin would make fun of the reporters who asked pointless questions like boxers or briefs? Wade would reply by telling Justin about someone in his class that wasn't there for the dance at all, she was just taking pictures and getting way too emotional for someone at a dance class.

Other times, Justin was on the tour bus, or in an airplane. And he would tell Wade about what he saw as he looked out the window. He always described landscape in beautiful detail, and always compared it to Wade somehow. Wade always replied with an awe struck comment about Justin's way with words.

Chris always asked Justin why they didn't just call each other. "Like normal couples," he would say.

Justin would smile and say, "Sometimes it's more fun this way."

Neither of them would admit it, but they looked forward to those messages.

Sometimes Justin would just laugh. It didn't matter where they were or what they were doing, sometimes Justin just started laughing. It started out as a small giggle, but every time Wade would ask Justin what he was laughing at, Justin would try and explain and the giggle would grow into a full blown laugh.

Justin had a very infectious laugh. Whenever Justin broke out into his fits of giggles and laughter, Wade soon joined him. Wade never knew what was so funny, but he couldn't help but laugh when he watched Justin laugh at himself. They would laugh for what seemed like hours. Every time they thought they were done, they’d just look at each other and start up again.

Afterwards, when they’d finally got it out of their systems, Wade would ask Justin what had been so funny. And it was always something so silly and adorable. Something so... Justin. And Wade would just shake his head with a smile and kiss Justin, calling Justin his adorable, beautiful boy.

He would never admit it, but sometimes Justin started laughing on purpose.

The world stopped turning when they made love. Time froze and it was just the two of them, wrapped up in each other. They whispered words of love and devotion as the sheets rustled between them. They never felt as close, as connected to each other as they did when they were making love.

There were a lot of times where they didn’t even need words to talk. They could sit with their arms around each other and hold an entire conversation in silence. A smile said a thousand words. The times where they gazed into each other’s eyes, connecting on that next level, were some of the most intense moments they shared.

They loved to hold hands. Justin always said that their hands fit perfectly together, like they were made for each other. Wade loved to believe that that was true.

They loved each other. More than anything.

And they never had a problem admitting that.
