I thought that I should offer up a brief explanation about
this story before you continue on your way.
Forever and a
Year was one of the first stories I ever wrote in the *NSYNC slash fandom. It's
by far the longest story I've ever written, period. I'm fond of this story, not
because I think it's a wonderfully written story (it has quite a few flaws), but
because through this story a number of good things happened to me. I think that
it's through this story that I got a lot of experience as a writer. I got a real
feel for the kind of style I would go on to use in the future. To make it
incredibly cliché, this story really helped me grow as a
writer. I also happened to make
many, many wonderful friends (most of whom you'll find hosted on this domain)
while writing this story and I count myself very lucky in that
aspect.
Now. Onto the more technical side of
this note. When I was re-modeling this website, this story was the only one that
absolutely refused to be re-coded. Every other story gave me absolutely no
trouble, but Forever and a Year crashed my computer at each attempt to put it
into the new format style I've adapted for the rest of this website. Even when
I'd split it up into tiny parts, it still refused to code. So I've taken that as
a sign (or just given up, either way) and left it as it originally was when
I first put it up on my old Angelfire site. When poptrash.org went down, it was the only story I didn't
have saved to my computer in any new kind of html format due to a
computer crash a few months back. And instead of saying I was too
frustrated and maybe a little too lazy to try for the billionth time to
re-code it, I think I'll say that leaving this story in it's original format is
like keeping a small piece of the old me immortalized on my website.
Or something.
At any rate, thanks for
taking the time to read this, and I hope you
enjoy.
