Truth or Dare

It had been raining for two hours, and by the looks of things, it wasn't going to let up any time soon.

"Damn rain, this was our day off," Chris Kirkpatrick muttered as he moved away from the window in his hotel room. He and his four friends and groupmates, Lance Bass, Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone, and JC Chasez had come to Washington on their tour, and this was supposed to be the day they went sight seeing.

Not the day they were all cooped up in a hotel.

There was a knock on the door to his room, and Chris told whoever it was to come in. Joey and Justin walked into the room, their clothes soaked and their hair dripping.

"Where'd you guys go, walking for two hours?" Chris asked, amazed at how drenched his friends were.

"Close. Across the parking lot to the soda machine," Justin said. "And you got *that* wet?" Chris asked. Joey and Justin nodded.

"So...what should we do?" Justin asked, looking at a magazine that was on the table next to the bed.

"Did you hook up the playstation?" Joey asked, looking at the television on the other side of the room.

Chris shook his head. The room was quiet for a moment until there was another knock on the door. "Come in," Chris called.

Lance walked in, followed by JC, and they were both dry.

"So, what are the plans for today?" JC asked.

"You're pretty much looking at it," Joey told them.

"We've got to come up with something to do," Lance said as there was a loud clap of thunder outside.

"Why don't we play a game or something," Justin said, still looking at the magazine.

"Like what?" Chris asked.

"I dunno...how about Monopoly or Scrabble or something," Justin suggested.

"Okay, there's just one problem, where do we get the actual games?" Chris said, a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

"Okay, geez, sorry. How about if we play something that doesn't need a board. Like...Truth or Dare," Justin said.

The room was quiet as everyone thought about whether they wanted to play or not.

"Sure, beats the hell out of doing nothing," Joey said.

"Yeah, I'll play," Lance agreed.

"Okay," JC and Chris echoed.

"All right, we need to get in a circle," Justin said, and everyone formed a circle in the middle of the room.

"Okay, I'll ask first. Chris, truth or dare?" Justin said, turning to Chris.

"Uhh...dare, I guess."

"Okay...I dare you to go stand outside in the rain for one full minute," Justin said. Chris didn't think it was that daring of a dare, but he didn't want something worse, so he just nodded and walked out of the room. Justin got up and looked out the window, making sure that Chris was doing his dare.

While Justin was doing that, everyone else was lost in their thoughts.

'What if they ask if I'm in love with someone? What am I supposed to say? Yes, I'm in love with Lance and have been ever since I met him? I could always lie...'

'This is so great! I know something's up with those two, and this gives me the perfect opportunity to find out what. Then maybe they can stop acting so miserable...'

'Okay, don't panic. They know I'm not dating anyone, so it's most likely that I won't get asked any relationship questions. Although they could always ask if I'm secretly in love with someone. Then what? I can't just lie...but if I told the truth, it could screw us all up. The group before anything else, that's what I have to keep telling myself...'

"Okay, he finished," Justin said, returning to the circle, breaking his friends out of their thoughts. Chris walked back into the room, drenched from head to toe. "Okay, I got a little wetter than I expected myself to," Chris said as his teeth started to chatter. Justin hurried over to the bed the moment he saw that Chris was cold and pulled the blanket off, handing it over to his friend.

"Thanks Curly," Chris said, giving Justin a smile. Justin just nodded.

"Okay, Chris, it's your turn," JC said as Chris rejoined the circle.

"All right...let's see...Joey, truth or dare?"

"Truth," Joey said.

Chris was quiet as he thought about what to ask Joey. Then, an evil grin crept up on his face.

"Okay Joey. Honestly, now, no lying. How much do you really weigh?"

Joey's mouth dropped open wide. "Are you implying that I'm fat?"

Chris chuckled. "No, just answer the question."

"One fifty, I swear it," Joey said, looking anywhere but at his friends. All the guys in the room were laughing, and Chris was just about to bring it up again when Joey suddenly said, "Lance, truth or dare?"

Everyone's attention turned to Lance, to see which one he would choose.

'Go with a dare, go with a dare. If you go with truth, something could happen. The group before anything else, just keep telling yourself that...' Lance thought to himself as everyone waited for his reply.

"Dare," Lance said.

"Okay...uh...I dare you to hold your breath for one minute," Joey said.

"That's it? I'm freezing, and he has to hold his breath for one minute? He's a goddamn singer, how hard can that be?" Chris asked.

"Fine. Lance, I dare you to hold your breath for two minutes," Joey said to Lance.

"So you're trying to kill him? You're a great friend Joey," Chris muttered.

Joey sighed. "Okay, how about if he goes out and stands in the rain for two minutes, Chris? Does that work?" Joey asked.

Justin watched the exchange with an amused grin on his face, while Lance was trying to tell his two friends not to get into a fight about his dare.

"Okay Joey, I'm developing pneumonia, why don't you give Lance frostbite?" Chris retorted.

"You're not getting pneumonia," JC said, looking at his friend.

"Fine! Lance, I dare you to kiss someone in this room!" Joey exclaimed.

The room fell silent as everyone looked at Joey, and then at Lance.

"Got any objections to that one?" Joey asked Chris, his voice wavering between sarcastic and seriousness.

Chris, however, wasn't the one to speak up. It was JC. "You can't make him do that, Joey. That's crossing a line, and probably the last thing Lance wants to do. I think after Joey chooses another dare that we need to set some boundaries."

Joey watched as the expressions in Lance's eyes changed from shock at what Joey had suggested, to what could only be described as increasing hurt as JC kept talking.

"Just go stand out in the rain, Lance. I'll time you," JC said, getting up and moving over to the window.

"I'll get another blanket," Justin said quietly, feeling the awkward tension in the room.

Lance walked out into the hallway, JC's words replaying in his head.

"That's crossing a line..."

JC was repulsed by the idea of Lance kissing another guy. JC was repulsed by a guy kissing another guy period.

"God, why did it have to be him?" Lance asked himself quietly as he stepped out into the parking lot of the hotel. He looked up and saw the figure of JC illuminated by the light of the room in the window.

'He's so beautiful...' Lance thought as he felt either a rain drop or a tear, he couldn't tell, fall down his face. Lance just watched JC until he saw JC's hand beckoning him to come back inside.

Justin handed Lance a blanket, and as the group reentered the circle, everyone noticed that Lance looked really sad and JC looked really tense and angry.

"Lance, it's your turn," Joey said.

"Oh, yeah. Justin, truth or dare?"

Justin grinned. "Truth."

"Do you really do your own hair when we're on a break?" Lance asked.

Justin didn't answer for a moment. "Would I ever lie to you? Do you think that anyone could make me look more perfect then mahself?"

The guys laughed, and Joey silently thanked Lance for breaking the tension in the room.

Justin looked around the circle until his eyes fell upon JC. "Okay, Mr. Chasez, I believe you're the last one left that hasn't been asked, so...truth or dare?"

"Truth," JC said, not wanting to risk going out into the rain.

"Okay," Justin said with a devilish grin. "Are you secretly in love with someone?"

JC tensed up and said, "I'll take the dare."

"I dare you to tell me the truth," Justin said, now very interested in who JC was harboring secret feelings for.

Joey looked around and noticed that Lance was looking at JC like his answer was the most important thing in the world. Joey was starting to piece it all together, when JC gave his answer.

"No, I'm not in love with anybody." JC said it with such a hard tone that nobody forced the issue, even though everyone knew he was lying. Lance looked like he might cry.

"Joey, truth or dare?" JC asked.

"Truth," Joey answered, still studying Lance.

JC looked at Joey and followed his gaze, seeing that the false redheaded man was looking at Lance.

"Why did you dare Lance to kiss someone in this room?" JC asked.

"Because Chris was frustrating me, and it just popped out," Joey said naturally.

JC seemed to take that, but Joey noticed that he kept receiving glares from JC.

"Okay, JC, truth or dare?" Joey asked.

"He just went!" Justin said with a little pout.

"Truth or dare?" Joey repeated.

"Dare. I'll take a dare."

"Okay, I dare you to tell us who you're secretly in love with."

"You can't do that, Joey! You can't dare me to tell a truth. If I wanted to tell you who I'm in love with then I would've gone with truth!" JC said loudly.

"So you are secretly in love with someone," Lance said, more to himself than to JC, but the older man heard him.

"Who is it JC?" Chris asked teasingly. "Is it that cute girl you were flirting with at that bar the other night?"

"No. Look, I think we should stop," JC said.

"Why? Scared of the truth?" Justin asked, grinning as he realized he had used a play on words.

"Lance, I have to talk to you," Joey said, breaking up the upcoming argument between JC and Justin. Joey grabbed Lance by the arm and dragged him out into the hall.

"Okay, now I know that I'm really slow at most things, but I've noticed the way you've closed yourself off lately. Now, I want the truth Lance. Do you have feelings for JC and is that why you've been so distant?"

Lance tried to say no, but he couldn't fight it anymore. He didn't have the will to care anymore, because it didn't matter anymore. JC would never love him, and he had to accept that.

"Yes," Lance said quietly, looking at his feet.

Before Joey could say anything, JC opened the door to Chris' room and stepped out into the hall. "Are you guys done out here?" he asked. Lance nodded and walked back into the room, still looking down.

JC turned to go back in as well, but Joey held him back. "I have to talk to you, too." JC sighed and said, "What is it Joey?"

Joey shut the door and looked at JC. "This is important JC. You've been acting weird lately, everyone's noticed it, and I know now that it's because you're secretly in love with someone. So who is it, JC? It's really important that you tell me."

"Why?"

"Because it matters to someone."

"Who?"

"Lance."

"Lance," JC repeated.

"Yes, it matters to Lance, JC, now who is it?" Joey asked.

"No, it's Lance. Lance is the one I'm secretly in love with," JC said quietly. Joey looked at him in shocked silence. It was too good to be true...

"I can't believe I just told you that," JC said, putting his head in his hands and leaning against the wall of the hallway.

JC waited for Joey to get over his shock and say something. Anything. Then suddenly, "JC? Are you okay?"

But it wasn't Joey's voice. It was Lance.

JC looked up sharply and saw that Joey had disappeared and Lance was standing there, his clothes still wet and his hair just slightly damp. JC thought he looked wonderful.

"I'm fine," JC said, his voice cracking as he said it.

"Okay, well, Joey just came in and said I should go talk to you about something, but it doesn't really matter, and I'd probably just waste your time, so let's just go back and play the game," Lance said, turning to the door knob.

"Everything you say matters to me," JC said quietly. Lance's hand, which had been resting on the door knob, fell silently back next to his side as he looked at JC.

"Really?" he asked softly. JC couldn't look at Lance as he nodded.

There was an uncomfortable silence in the hall, until Lance spoke up, "So, nice weather we're having outside, huh? I mean, no, it's not nice, it's rainy and the rain isn't so nice, and so I guess what I meant was-"

JC pulled Lance towards him and pressed their lips together before Lance could continue with what he was saying. Lance stood frozen in place for a moment before he eagerly responded. The two stood like that in the hallway for a long time, locked in a passionate embrace, before JC pulled away gently.

"What did you mean Lance?" JC asked quietly.

"I'm sorry, was I talking before?" Lance asked, staring up at JC as if mesmerized.

Then, JC realized what he had just done. "Oh...oh my...Lance, I'm...I'm sorry, I know that you're not...that you don't...oh God..."

Lance came back down from the high he was on from JC's kiss when he heard these words. Without thinking, he pulled JC in for another kiss.

When the two pulled away, Lance looked up into JC's eyes, and didn't see what he thought he would see. He didn't see the disgust and anger, he only saw something different. Something he couldn't quite place.

"I'm in love with you Lance. I've loved you since the day I met you, and I know that sounds cheesy, but it's the truth. And it's so hard to love you and have to be around you every day, knowing that I can never have you. I love you Lance, and it feels so good to finally tell you that," JC said.

"But when we were playing the game, and Joey dared me to kiss someone, you said doing that would be crossing a line. I don't-" Lance started, but JC cut him off. "I didn't want to see you kissing someone else. It would've driven me crazy."

"And so...so the person you secretly love is...is me?" Lance asked. JC nodded and Lance broke out into a grin. "Well, if it helps any, I love you too. I mean, I've loved you since I saw you, and I guess it really was love at first sight, since you said the same thing, and now you love me too, and I never thought that this could happen..."

Lance trailed off as he and JC stared into each other's eyes. JC took Lance's hand in his own, and without breaking the eye contact, they walked towards JC's room, which was only two doors down. JC opened the door and they both entered the room. JC turned and silently locked the door.

JC and Lance met and started to kiss, gently at first, but it gradually grew more passionate. JC slid his hands under Lance's shirt, feeling his stomach and hard abs, trailing up to tease his nipples to hardness. Lance moaned into their kiss and pulled JC closer to him. They moved towards the bed, never breaking their kiss, they landed with JC on top of Lance, and both stopped only long enough to pull off their shirts. Lance started moving down to JC's neck and gently kissing the flesh. Then, he let his tongue trail from JC's neck to his left nipple. Lance gently swirled his tongue around it, peaking it to hardness. He then moved to the other one, getting the same result.

"Lance..." JC moaned, pulling him back up for a deep kiss. JC's tongue probed Lance's lips, and they opened, allowing the two tongues to start dueling. While still locked in their kiss, JC's hands moved down to Lance's pants, slowly undoing the button and pulling the zipper down. JC slid Lance's pants down, discarding them on the floor. Then, before Lance could do it, JC pulled his own pants off and threw them onto the floor, leaving only both of their boxers between them.

Lance looked at JC and kissed him gently on the lips. "Are you sure you want this?" he asked quietly.

JC smiled at Lance. "I've never been more sure about anything else in my life."

Lance grinned and gently moved his hands towards the rim of JC's boxers, gently pulling them off. With nervous hands, JC grabbed onto Lance's boxer and started to pull them down. Suddenly, he felt Lance's hands on top of his, guiding them downwards.

As they kissed and caressed and thrust and experienced each other for the first time, all both of them could think was that this was perfection.

It was late and Chris was tired, so Joey and Justin found themselves in the hall outside his door.

"Weren't JC and Lance out here?" Justin asked.

"Yeah, forever ago, smart one," Joey said.

"Hey, it's not my fault Chris got his playstation hooked up and I lost track of time. Where did those two go anyway?"

Joey smiled and looked towards JC's room. "I don't know, but I hope they're together."

Justin looked confused, and Joey chuckled. "Come on, Curly. Let's go see if the hotel bar is still open," Joey said, pulling Justin down the hall.

Lance and JC lie wrapped in each other's arms, silently listening to the rain hitting the windows and the streets below.

"Truth or dare?" Lance asked quietly. "Truth," JC said, looking over at Lance with a smile.

"Are you going to love me forever?"

"Forever," JC said.

They were both silent again, until JC asked, "Lance, truth or dare?"

"Truth," Lance said with a small grin.

"Are you going to love me forever?"

Lance smiled and kissed JC.

"Forever."
